Apple Berry Crumble

No one can resist digging into this sweet & crunchy dessert! The best part is the crust— because it’s made with Quaker Oats.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups Quaker Quick Cooking or Old Fashioned oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • 3 Tbsps. butter, melted
  • 3 Tbsps. unsaturated cooking oil Moisten with low fat milk
  • 1 can apple pie filling
  • ¾ cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • 1 ½ tsps. lemon juice
  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon

Procedure

1 Heat an oven to 375ºF.
2 Lightly spray a 9-inch glass pie plate with non-stick cooking spray.
3 Combine oats, flour, brown sugar and baking soda in a bowl. Add the melted butter, and oil to the flour and mix well. Set aside ¾ cup of the mixture for the topping.
4 Press the remaining oat mixture firmly on the bottom and sides of the pie plate. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
5 In a separate bowl, mix the apple pie filling, with cranberries, lemon juice and cinnamon. Spoon the filling over the hot crust.
6 Sprinkle the reserved oat mixture over the filling and bake for 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown.
